About Us

Our mission is to connect families of color to supportive and culturally competent providers and professionals serving the perinatal period and beyond.

The Bridge is not just a directory and a resource for families of color, but a community of professionals, who seek to heal the disparities in health and care from the inside.

Our members are:

  • Childbirth educators
  • Chiropractors
  • Doulas
  • Lactation consultants
  • Massage therapists
  • Mental health therapists
  • Midwives
  • Obstetricians
  • Pediatricians
  • And more

We want to center the lifelines in our community—as our ancestors once did. We do that through getting to know each other, sharing wisdom, and remembering. We believe we have the solutions our clients, patients, and families seek, and we can get so much further when we move as one.

    Our Founders

As birthworkers and mothers of color, we experienced first hand the limited lack of resources and information available online and we believe The Bridge Directory is that solution.

    • Founder, Operations

Emilie is the visionary behind the Bridge Directory with her focus on serving our community on a grassroots level.

    • Founder, Technology

Nicolle has worked in the tech industry for over a decade in capacities ranging from marketing to product development and software engineering.

    • Founder, Chief Operating Officer

Guramrit has a passion for connecting with people and a deep understanding in fostering relationships through authentic marketing and social media.

    Advised by Our Elders

The Bridge Directory seeks wisdom, accountability, and guidance from our council of community-nominated elders. Our elders not only lead our community, they serve in an advisory capacity in support of our common goal and mission.
