About the Provider

My passion is to touch the heart of those I encounter by providing them with a peaceful experience.

My entire life I grew up taking care of people out of responsibility and out of compassion. My older sister, Taylor, is disabled and in a wheelchair. With my mother being a single mother of 3 it was my responsibility to help care for my sister.

I grew up in a family of healers, so I always knew which ever career I pursued that, one— I must enjoy, and two— I was destined to be a healer of some sort since it’s in my lineage.  I made the choice to pursue doula work because I believe it’s a blessing being able to support mothers and families through such a vulnerable and life-changing time. The perinatal experience is quite spiritual regardless of belief, birth is sacred.

While in college, I started my business, Medicine of Essence, which was formally hosting yoga sessions and selling handcrafted body products. Through hosting yoga sessions I got the pleasure to work with many postpartum mothers and prenatal clients that took my classes to either bring a sense of tranquility to mind and body, or prepare for childbirth. This was quite fascinating to me, in which I began networking and found my calling as a doula and later a Massage Therapist. My journey as a doula began in which I started working under another doula, who was my mentor. I learned soooooo much that I was ignorant to, I just wanted to keep learning more. I fell in love with birthwork and decided to take my profession a step further by  taking my postpartum training with DONA International and then finally certified as a birth doula with ProDoula. I obtained my massage therapist schooling with Northern Virginia School of Therapeutic Massage.  I followed my passion—supporting people on the path to healing. I made the choice to pursue doula work because I believe it’s a blessing being able to support mothers' and families through such a vulnerable and life-changing time. The perinatal experience is quite spiritual regardless of belief, birth is sacred.
