About the Provider

Prenatal yoga changed my life. When I was pregnant in 2016, I began taking prenatal yoga classes since long distance running was no longer comfortable for me and I still wanted to remain active. I expected prenatal yoga to help ease the physical aches and pains of pregnancy (which it did), but I didn't expect for it to strengthen my bond with my unborn child the way it did. Nor did I expect for it to empower me to educate and speak up for myself about my rights. I was one of a few women of color who regularly attended prenatal yoga classes in my area, and I remember at first feeling out of place in the studio. After I became a mother I realized my privilege, and also my power. I soon thereafter embarked on my 200 hr YTT. I never wanted another person of color, especially a pregnant one, to feel the way I felt walking into a yoga studio. I am now one of two POC yoga studio owners in Westchester County, and Prana is the only yoga studio in Westchester solely focused on the bump, birth, baby, and beyond.
