About the Provider
I will create a warm and empathetic therapeutic space which allows you to learn and grow at your own pace; therapy is a partnership. The clients I work with understand the importance of giving everything their all. They tend to be overachievers; who push themselves to be the best. My clients understand hard work and sacrifice because they have witnessed it firsthand; they carry the weight of many people's hopes and dreams on their shoulders. My clients often struggle with anxiety, imposter syndrome, and depression, which keep them from enjoying the lives they sacrificed to build.
I believe in holding space for each of my clients in ways that honor the uniqueness of their life’s journey; there are 100 million ways that make everyone different. I believe that differences can be celebrated and respected by allowing my clients to tell their life’s journey and take ownership of it. Doing this allows my clients to reexamine their past through a different lens and create a future that aligns with who they strive to be. Our work together will examine your thoughts, feelings, and actions; we will discuss your past and present in a way that will give you the confidence and freedom to relinquish what does not serve the life you envision.
I am the oldest child of Guyanese immigrants and have been blind since birth; my life and challenges allow me to create an empathic, compassionate, judgment-free space for the clients I work with. Clients deserve a therapist who honors their uniqueness and understands that life is not one size fits all.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, writing, listening to pop music, and playing with her golden retriever, Lucky.! My self-care. Includes. Spin class, reading psychological thrillers and contemporary romances.
I also mentor college students with disabilities and volunteer as a support specialist on the national crisis hotlines.
